Frequently Asked Questions

How much does kayaking or SUP in Paracas cost?

The rental costs S/ 60 and includes the kayak or SUP board, paddle, life jacket, a dry bag for your belongings, and the safety briefing. An accompanying in-water guide is optional at an additional rate.

What is the best time to paddle?

Between 6:30 AM and 9:00 AM the bay is completely flat, like a pool. After midday the famous Paracas wind picks up and paddling gets demanding — that is why we only operate in the morning.

Is it hard to balance on a Paddleboard?

We use beginner-friendly boards (wide and thick). Most people stand up within their first 10 minutes. If balancing is hard, you can comfortably paddle on your knees.

Is any experience needed?

None. Our beach staff will show you how to hold the paddle, steer, and climb back aboard if you slip into the water.

Will I get wet?

In a kayak, expect some paddle splashes. On a paddleboard, you might fall in. We recommend swimwear or quick-dry sportswear and a dry change of clothes for afterwards.

What wildlife can I see from the kayak?

Paddling quietly along the shore, you can get close to pelicans, Inca terns, gulls and, in season, flamingos feeding in the bay. Keep your phone in the dry bag for photos.
