The Golden Shadows Trek is an exclusive hiking adventure that takes you to explore the hidden geographic wonders of the Paracas National Reserve.
We will walk along sandy trails bordering tall sea cliffs where the ocean waves meet the desert hills in dramatic fashion.
The hike is scheduled in the afternoon so we arrive at our final viewpoint as the setting sun colors the dunes and cliffs a brilliant gold.

How much does the Golden Shadows Trek cost?
The hike costs S/ 120 per person and includes round-trip transport to the trailhead, a certified guide, trekking poles on request, and photos of the hike taken by your guide. Only the Reserve entrance fee (S/ 11) is extra.
Is the hike physically demanding?
The route is moderate-low difficulty, about 5 km. There are some gentle sandy climbs, but the pace is relaxed with plenty of stops at the viewpoints.
What shoes should I wear?
Closed athletic shoes or hiking boots are mandatory. Flip-flops or flat-soled city shoes are not permitted for safety reasons.
Can children join the trek?
We recommend this tour for children aged 10 and older who enjoy walking, given the 2.5-hour duration of the trail.
Why is the trek in the afternoon?
The route is designed to reach the final viewpoint just as the sun sets over the ocean: the golden light paints the cliffs and dunes, the phenomenon that gives the trek its name. It also avoids the midday heat.
